What made you want to begin a career working in the bakery industry?

Love the smell of fresh baked bread. You can wear last years clothes but you can’t eat last years foods.  Always demand in the food industry.

What challenges did you face starting out in your career?

College did not fully prepare me for large industrial production facilities and how to work best with hourly team members.

What challenges have you faced as a woman in the bakery industry and how did you overcome them?

I’m not aware of any challenges in the bakery industry due to me being a women.

How long have you worked in the bakery industry?

23 years

What is your career highlight?

Board of Directors National Ag Hall of Fame.

If you could make one change to the bakery industry, what would that be and why?

Establish an attractive  mentoring  program for industrial bakery production to entice  younger bakers to join and stay in the business.  It’s a dying breed.

What does your job entail?

Midwest Sales for Gold Coast Inc. Represent Midwest area for Baking, Nutritional, Pet Food, and Other Industries for flavor and colors.

What advice would you give to young people looking to get into the bakery industry?

Wonderful, it’s a close knit industry where others help others.

What are your hobbies and interests?

Two kids and gardening.

Who is your role model and why?

Janet Yellen.  former Federal Reserve Chairman, Yellen’s, vast knowledge, professionalism and brilliant mind managed the  monetary flow of money for the most powerful country in the world.

If you could invite anyone to a dinner party, who would it be and why?

Saint Mother Teresa of Calcutta. Her unbelievable strength and leadership to care for the less fortunate with peace and grace.

If you could switch places with one other people, who would it be and why?

Celine Dion, she can sing and I can’t.

What is your favourite bakery event and why?

ASB, relevant sessions for current issues, a wonderful group of people.

If you could choose to only eat one bakery product for the rest of your life, what would it be?

Hot Crusty French Baguette

If you could tell your younger self one thing you have learnt from your career, what would it be?

Be humble and hard working. In the work world, no one cares about your college degree and past accomplishments once you’re hired.

How would you define success?

Clients recommending me to other potential clients

What would say that your proudest moment has been in your career?

Oh my, sorry I can not think of a “Proudest Moment” but I do enjoy meeting with my accounts and assisting them with their flavor projects.

What was your big break, and how did you reach it?

I can not think of a specific “BIG BREAK”. My approach is taking care of others as I would like to be treated.
